About // RESI
An ODI initiative

An evidence base for the islands the world treats as a footnote.

The Resilient & Sustainable Islands Initiative (RESI) is a programme of ODI Global, built to make the case for Small Island Developing States with evidence rather than appeal.

Small island states sit at the sharp edge of the climate crisis, yet the data that should drive investment toward them is scattered, inconsistent, and rarely framed around their reality. RESI gathers it into one place — and turns it into research, dashboards, and stories that move decisions.

Across four workstreams — resilience finance, loss and damage, multidimensional poverty, and debt — we work with island governments, researchers, and partners to defend the special case for SIDS on the global stage.
